I looked at all of them and settled on The Garmin SP 2730 and the Ram mount and from Cycle Gadgets. Mounted to the front brake master cylinder. The 2730 Has MP3 and XM Satellite receiver included including the Antenna. The 2730 is waterproof at least as waterproof as the Zumo I mounted the XM antenna up under the fairing on top of the Radio but you can also get a bracket that mounts to the back of the GPS that is magnetic to mount the antenna. Much cheaper than the Zumo and does everything the zumo does.
amazon has the Zumo 450 for $529, its like the 550 but without the Bluetooth and XM capability, I don't use those features anyhow. Its another option if you want to save a couple bucks and don't care about those features.
Everyone tries to justify what they have but the zumo actually meets the specs tested to determine to be waterproof. Plus the Mp3 and bluetooth are great to have.
I just bought a Magellan Crossover 2500T from Office Depot. They have them on sale in the local stores (Dallas/Fort Worth)for $249.00 until Mid March. The Magellan has the same waterproof rating as the Garmin and Tom Tom units. It also has the MP3 player function but not bluetooth; however, it does have a port for an earphone. You are supposed to be able to use this unit in the car, in the boat, or on foot and it is supposed to have an 8 hour battery life. I ran on battery for 4 hours yesterday and the battery indicator showed more than half charge, so I believe it might make 8 hours. I ran the magellan side by side with a garmin nuvi 260 in my car and they are both comparable. The garmin maybe a little faster on recalculating.
I still have to get a mount for the bike, I hope to get this found and ordered next week. Then I will be able to try it out on the bike. The best price I found on the internet was $369.00 from TigerGPS.com. This is also the first site that had this unit listed as for motorcycle use.
Anyway, I was willing to take a gamble for the price. It it don't work then I'll try something else. May have to pay the big buck for the Zumo.

I've had a Zumo 550 for over a year now, use it in the car, on foot, on the Ultra, best GPS out there, would not change my purchase on this one. I did have to pay like $680 a year ago, but it is worth it.
