Does a SE version of a motorcycle hold it's resale value any better than the non-SE version? My dealer indicates that it does. KBB indicates that it doesn't.
CVO's (Custom Vehicle Operations) or Screamin Eagles, as most people call them, are hand assembled by a CVO builder and do not go down the regular assembly line. They are produced in limited quantities each year.
They have just about every piece of chrome H-D makes and have larger engines...
KBB is mistaken if that is true.....the COV's even have a different designation than its regular counterpart.....
FLHRSEI
FLHRI.......................for instance.
Just ask someone who has tried to sell one. The biggest problem is that they are so much to begin with that in a couple of years they are still over priced so if a person can afford one they just buy new instead of used. Any dealer is going to tell you they hold thier value, but go in and ask a dealer what he would give on a trade in on a 2 year old SE, then the truth comes out.
All trade in values have taken a dump of late.Dealerships (here) have a large inventory.I tried to trade my 07SG in when I had just 2500 miles on it to get an 08 Ultra. $14,500 was the best I could manage. Needless to say, my SG is going to stay mine. The SE seems to be it's own beast and has a smaller field of buyers.
