RE: HK radios and MP3s?
Dennis, If you have your cd's converted to MP3's on your PC all you have to do is burn them as a DATA file not a MUSIC file and it will work.
As for the guys that have burned MP3's, your random playlist MAYBE because you didn't renumber the songs. My HK radio played all of the 01 tracks then all of the 02 tracks....I then went back to the PC and renumbered the playlist so a complete copiedMP3 (CD) would play before going to the next copied disc. Another words, start numbering your songs in numerical order, 1 through 100 or what ever. Notfour converted cd's that havefour , 01, 02, 03 etc tracks. Hope that helps.
My XM radio with the AUX wire plugged in to the HK fixed all my problems .
Download free at "Limewire", "drag" into a new Apple IPOD playlist, burn your MP3 CD. I got 160 songs onto 1 CD. Drop me a line if you need anymore info.
I put 84 mp3 songs on a cd. \\; I have the latest radio update on '06 Ultra. \\; Of the 84 songs, the radio skipped 38 of them - just pauses long enough to display track number then moves to the next. \\; I have renumbered the files as someone suggested. \\; I believe it has something to do with the tags. \\; Some of the songs that played had title and artist displayed correctly some just had file name with .mp3 after it - not consistant. \\; I tried burning CD's with Roxio, media player, and a freebie cd writer - all with same results. \\; I can play this same cd in 3 other players including my car. \\; We are trying to get ready for sturgis and it would be great to have this figured out before then. \\; Very frustrating - any suggestions?
\\;Jayman720 is correct. \\; The software I was using had the option to write ID3 tags as the older style (version 1) or the new style (version 2). \\; If I used new style - the HK radio couldn't handle all the info in the tags. \\; Went to old style tags without album art and other non-essential info - the CD plays perfectly. \\; Thanks Jay.
