Can someone claify this just a bit?

I cannot recall how I wired my 05 FLHTCUI, but the dash ACC switch had nothing to do with it (I used that to run only gear plugged into the ACC outlet under the seat).

I wired the yellow headlight wire to an orange wire (think it was orange/red stripe) and the spots could be on with high bean or low, but the ACC switch was never involved.

That orange wire of which you speak comes out of the bottom of the accessory switch, that is the correlation that they make when they say accessory switch. It is simply the 12v continuous power feed to the acc switch.

I just did this mod and the way you describe is correct. The ACC switch on your dash has nothing to do with it, that is just the wire where the power comes from. The Spot switch on the dash controls whether the passing lamps are on or off, with the mod they can be on or off anytime, even with the high beam on.

I think folks are getting the ACC setting on the ignition confused with the ACC switch on the dash. You can have your ignition turned to ACC and listen to the radio etc, just flip the Spot switch to off and the passing lamps will turn off.

Hope that helps

That's what I fugured, Ron...the orange/reed stripewire is accessible inside the faring...may be the hot wire to the ACC switch, but the ACC switch can be OFF and you still use the spots switch as we described.

Someone please correct us or explain further???

OH....and that yellow wire froim the headlight? It is bundled inside a wire loom cover and splits inside that cover...it's a 50/50 crap shoot which yellow to cut....any advice there (to avoid cutting the wrong part of the yellow and having to do a reconnect?)
