It's an easy install. Just remember on 08's the siren goes inside the left cover. It's a tight fit, some silicon on the retaining clips makes it easier.
The instructions that come with the unit are poor-read your HD service manual it's better.

it's loud enough to get attention but not loud enough to cause pain. i set mine off disconnecting the battery to attach the wires for my heated gloves.

It is an easy install. There is a pre wired plug that the siren will plug into. It does not plug into the accessory plug that is located near the battery. If you have problems locating the plug post here, and I am sure you will get some responses. I have an 07. Mine was under the left cover, under the EMC that is held on with 2 bolts. Remove that and there is a plastic cover that has a little clip in the back side of it that holds the harness. I think it is basically the same for an 08, but it is all under the left cover (as you are sitting on the bike). The ABS stuff is under the right cover on your ride. Good Luck!

i didnt' think the directions helped much for an 08 install. most of the info i got here helped the most. you dont' have to take anything off but the left cover. the plug is on the left, next to where the siren goes. it is made to fit just right. it is a little tough to get the siren into the space, especially in the cold, as the two little plastic arms that hold it in place are TIGHT. but if i can do it, anyone can!
