Hey all,
In the next few months I am going to trade in my bike for a 2008 Street Glide. Was wondering if any 08 owners out there have any advice. Should I get ABS? Any problems compared to 07-08? Anything I should check for with the dealer and so on. Any hep would be great!
Don't pay more than MSRP.. and see if they will throw in any mods like se stage 1 air cleaner, true duals etc. with a sert. (Rear cylinder tends to run hot on 08's until tuned with fuel mod) OR do it for cheap..!!
If you can't get that, go for a sundowner seat and sissy bar..!!
I love my 08. No problems to report. I would definatly make them throw some mods in for free. I got to pick what ever jacket I wanted for free. So I got $450 for free. Tell them for the price of the bike that cruise should be included also. I would also go with the sundowner seat. You will hate the stock one unless you like numb *** all day long. The sundowner is very comfortable and I am sure there are others. and make sure you take your stock items too. they already are making enough money off you. I sold my stock seat last fall on ebay and I got $150 for it. It helps offset the cost of a new seat. Good luck and congrats!
I got my 08 SG last November and would suggest the following at purchase;
1. Taller windscreen if you plan to do distance riding 8 inch plus at least < $ 100
2. ABS is the best option you can get for safety, the first time you need to stop fast you'll know they were worth it. $ 700 or thereabouts
3. Id do an SE air cleaner and some slip ons if you have the budget.around $500 depending on the slip ons
4. If you like music someHog Tunes speakers are a nice upgrade < $100
There are many other things you can add later but that will be a great start!
