The last bike I worked on was my old Panhead and that was almost 30 years ago. I could take it apart and put it back together in my sleep.I bought this 97 UltraGlide about 2 years ago and love it!! But it ain't near as easy to work on as my old "Pan". It's been problem free up til now but the battery has stopped charging. OK, I know it doesn't have a generator, and I know where the Voltage Regulator is but where the hell is the alternator or whatever it is that makes the battery charge?? Can anybody help me please?

 

If you look on the left side of your scoot the primary side ,you will see the wires going to the stator/alt. it is inside of the primary case you will have to remove it...Also the clutch basket and the compositor and the primary chain...then you can see the stator I would advise you to buy yourself a service manual..... I would check the plug at the voltage reg. first and make sure it isn't coroded...Then go from there .... yours should have a 38 amp alt. Hope this helps...Jer
