Default Cheap lowering shocks

After reading a post on this forum, I decided to try the Midwest 12" shocks that Eastern Performance is selling for $127.00.

I recently put on a 12" Cee Bailey SSC and thought it was a little too low after I installed a Mustang One Piece Ulta tour. The seat moved me up enough thatI had to do something. Ihad to stand to put both feet on the ground, even wearing boots. I looked at the various lowering kits that used the stock shocks. Most were $90 or more. I didn't like the idea of changing the geometry of the suspension. So I went for these shocks since the price was low. I figured that at least I'm not out that much if it doesn't work.

The ride is a little stiffer, but I expected that. Once I figure out the ideal shock and tire pressures to use the ride might improve.

My Buddy and I got them on with only a little trouble since we had no bike jack. After getting them on, I sat on the bike. I'm 5'6" with a 28" inseam. I could not flatfoot he bike while seated before if I was wearingtennis shoes. I can now. The windshield is now the perfect heigth. The shocks lowered me enough to make an effective one inchdifference in the heighth of the windshield.

The bike seems so much easier to handle, easpecially parking andwalking it aroundthe garage. The lean angle on the Jiffy Stand is also reduced. However the Jiffy Stand is harderto retract with two up. I was experiencing an air leak that I think I've cured. That may help that issue.

Put some miles on her today, going to a local bike rally. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I couldn't find the original post to send the member a PM thanking them for their information. This is what is great about this forum. You can get so many ideas and read about so many products. Yeah sometimes you have to was through a lot of BS to find it, but good information is there.

This is just my own thoughts and opinions of this product, others might have different ones. Take it for what it's worth. BTW it was my first dealings with Eastern Performance but it won't be my last.

No literature came with them. I'm guessing that the run the same air pressures as the stock ones. Momma and I weigh over 400 so they are good at least for that. They also have a chrome upper end instead of black like the stock ones.

I have these same shocks. I had them on a 03 RK for almost a year. Took them off and traided for a 07 Ultra. Got about 5000 miles on them on the Ultra. I run 8-12 lbs. solo and 15-20 lbs. Two up (180 + (I ain't goin there either) ). No trouble at all, Ride is about the same as stock and feet are a little flatter on the ground.

My guess is that they are a knock off of the HD 12". Though mine do have a chrome top end unlike Gordy's. Might be new for them. Can't see em anyway with the bags on.

Gordy, I aighn't saying either who weighs the most!
