got the mount for the bike and reception sucks....it is a dock and play radio and in my truck works great, take it off and put on bike awful.in drive waycant get a signal but signal in truck fine,,,any ideas???i know itsinstalled right, no over hangs etc. at wits end.took antenna off truck works fine what is the diff??
antenna is mounted by left switch housing on handlebars.the mount is really cool and it is correct.playin around with it earlier i could put my hand around receiver and i would get 2 bars of signal and it would work fine, move hand no signal.went to a local grocery parking lot faced south nothing around at all no signal....on way home it started working fine, went back to the lot wouldnt work!!!no loss of power anything like that just"aquiring signal"
When I had the antenna mounted on the handle bar the reception was poor. I moved it and put it on top of the radio under the bat wing. Bam! 3 bars most of the time. The antenna wants to have a few inches of metal around it to actas part of the antenna which helpsincrease the reception.
Yea I know what you mean,
I haveXMwith a plug and play Roady that works great in my car with no drops. Iwent ona two day850 mile ride and to me it seemed that I haddropped reception alotmore than I had in the past. My antenna on top of my radio inside the fairing

Try hooking it directly to your radio via an aux. cable from your sirius radio to you HK radio's aux outlet. You will get alot better reception that way. Using the frequency finder does not work very well on the motorcycle. I use an aux. cable in my car and motorcycle and it works great.
antenna only has a 3 inch wire, i think that is the problem and have contacted sirius(waiting to hear back) that was my next move, buy another antenna and put it on top of radio(inside fairing) just want to make certain it works that way no problem.dont wana have to pay for another one if ti doesnt work
