I have a RK custom and found a set of hard bags off of a SG. My bike is painted real red, I have seen alot of guys on this forum have made this switch. Just wondering how much $$$$ you had in the paint job. Can I get a new lock and key from harley?
$400 or so for the bags, yes you can get a matched key lock from the dealer just bring in your key and they will note the number on it and order it for you.
Yep shop around, but make sure you get a morotcycle painter to do the job....much different that a auto painter. See the work on other bikes first. Price is not always the best option/deal maker. A $200 job may look good but a $250 job may look REAL GOOD...

What's the difference between a MC painter and an auto painter??
Uhhhh, one paints motorcycles and one paints cars ? Is my guess.......
Dude, that dog you use for an avatar freaks me out...one of those attacked me when I had a paper route many moons ago. Hell, I think that may be the same one.
A painter is a painter, but a good bike painter is hard to find! If you can get your bags done for $200, you might want to be ready for a dissapointment. I don't paint for a living so I can cut deals, but when I paint, I paint for perfection, not production, and it shows. Best advice I can give is look at other scoots that have been painted. If you like the outcome, ask who done it. Shopping for price is a mistake....jbhawley is right, a little $$$ can make a huge difference!
Thanks fellows, I'm going to check out a few painters tomorrow if I get rained out from work. One last question, Any Idea on the price of harley paint? I have heard it is pretty expensive.
