Default I'm going to be honest......

Hello everyone,

I'll be honest here, when my wife told me she wanted me to buy a new bike so we can go on longer trips together I wasn't to keen to the idea of getting rid of my Night Train. I mean, my Night Train was a cool bike and a bagger was just a....... bagger. No thrills, old man bike, doesn't look cool....... But I thought "what the heck I'll go look" after I looked at all the baggers I really liked the looks of the Street Glide (for a bagger). I sat on it, looked at it, sat on it, looked at it....... I wasn't too sure. My Night Train looked like a rock star bike.... I was coooooooooooooooooool on it. The bagger screamed "old man" my kids were giving me crap for looking at a bagger. They said "Dad, that looks like a old man's bike, don't do it" After many voices in my head I decided to get rid of the Night Train (bless her soul) and buy a bagger.... The bagger was a Street Glide.

I got her home and the kids just turned their heads like it was a rotten apple sitting there. I ordered up a lot of Willie G stuff to make it "cooler" and then did the WO575 bars and all the gooding that goes with the bars (chrome switches, housings, clutch and brake and SS lines) It started to look better. I added a SERT, hooker exhaust, SE air intake too. It started to look better and sound better. I did a few small runs in town. At first I was a little shakey on it, I wasn't use to floor boards and on my Night Train the forward controlls were moved 3" more forward. Once I go the Street Glide on a straight away it felt real good. Lots of bottom end power. It sure didn't take much for it to get to 4000 RPM's. Now looking back I think I took some power away from my Night Train to make it sound cooler (mistake).

Yesterday was the first time I went out and "rode" the Street Glide. I rode it a little under 200 miles. Yes it was cold (38*) but I wanted to ride. Well let me tell you this........................... Getting rid of my Night Train was the best thing I have done! I LOVE the Street Glide!!! I love the heavy look, the bags are awsome for smaller things, the radio rocks! I use to laugh at people who had radios on their bikes, now I know what I have been missing!!!

Bottom line: Street Glide Rocks!

Welcome to the bagger life! Used to think the same as you but after buying my 08' RK standard in Nov I wouldn't have anything else. And the wife is MUCH happier riding now as well.

Welcome to the Club! These bikes quite simply KICK ***...

They're very comfortable and enable you to gobble up tremendous mileage in style and comfort unlike any other bike made. As you can see there are lots of "bling" items you can add to it that make it personalized and add some "cool" factor to it.

Have fun and many happy miles to you!

I used to call them old man bikes, until I became an old man. Now I call them baggers.
I love my Road King!
