I have a 2005 RK classic. I want to put Rinehart true duals on it. Does the installation of these pipes and the remapping that goes along wih it void the warranty in any way?
Thanks in advance.
the quick answer is no. it did not void anyhting on my bike. there are dealers out there that will have you believe otherwise, but it's simply not true unless the pipes/mapping directly cause damage.
My bike is on order, (be here the end of march) the dealer is installing my Rineharts & he was still offering me the extended warranty so I hope that is not true.

Iceman hit the nail on the head. Most dealers have "their" take on warranty, then there are all the other you will encounter on the road. Iceman speaks the facts.
Newkid52--When I did my new pipes last month, I looked at the Bub Rhineharts' dual headers and the V&H duals. My dealer told me they could do the V&H with a simple remap of the EFI, but if I wanted the Rhineharts, they'd have to install a SE Race Tuner, which added another $500 to the price. So I went with V&H, and I think they're awesome.
I have a riding buddy with the Rhineharts on his 2004 FLHR, and his sound great, too. But his bike is carbed, so he doesn't have to deal with all the EFI issues.
I've never had any negative issues concerning mod's and warranty. I think if your a visiting owner at another dealer you could run into some if they choose to take that line. But your selling dealer should support you. You see a tech makes more $$ doing it customer pay than under warranty where they cant charge xtra time.
I work as a Service Manager for a Harley Dealer and will say that Harley does have strict guidelines as far as what is covered under warranty. But the dealership will work with you especially when you have the dealer install the pipes. The dealer will cover you when that happens but I would suggest you talk to your dealer before installing any mods. Hope this helps...

Take a look at Samsons true duals, they look better and don't have that bend toward the end, also
a 1 piece heat shield on the Rt. side. Buy the pipes and put on the Rineheat mufflers if you like them. Brad
