One other thing ta think about...you MIGHT talk a cop outta a ticket fer 95 in a 55 on a purty day on a curvy road...(yeah, ah have a coupla times)....but if he sees a radar detector, he'll usually have NO mercy - even at 5 mph over.
How many of you run a radar detector of some kind and if so, how and where did you mount it? They are cheap on e-bay, might pick one up...
I have a Valentine 1 with remote audio accessory velcroed to the top of the radio inside the batwing on my UC. Light indications are obviously not visible mounted this way, but that's less important to me than having the thing somewhere out in plain sight where it'll be stolen. I run the audio into the AUX input on the stereo and get radar alerts through the bike's sound system.
I don't have it so I can speed. I simply feel more comfortable when I drive/ride when I know what's happening around me. That includes knowing where the cops are.
After working traffic for many years, I found I wrote more people with Radar Detectors then without. People get to complacent and rely to much on detectors an that gets them into trouble.Oh and by the way, I wouldn't writeanyone unless they were 20+ over... "D"
CSI got it right.
Its free and I just like to cruise. When I go fast I get all pumped up. Just the opposite of why I ride.
I like to mellow and go with the flow.
