That's the only thing I miss from the long cold winters................the anticipation of that 1st ride of the season. Butterflys don't seem to be the same when it's available everyday
jagr took the words off of my fingertips! seems like when you grow up (does that ever really happen?) you lose that awesome feeling you often felt as a kid. doesn't the machine just put you back in your parents house on christmas morning? what a blessing it is to be able to live in this beautiful country we all call the U.S.A! man are we lucky to live here! thank your vets for that!
Yep, there is a certain smell to the bike. I can remember when I was racing motorcross back in the late 70's. Oh the smell of KLOTZ 2 cycle ....."priceless" Only a couple of things in life that get my heart a pumping. Riding Harley's is one of them!!!!
Another old timer! Mid 60's for me as well and that smell also grabs me.Those butterflys are from wanting a trouble free ride and all the things going through your mind about did I or should I check before striking off.It has always helped me have peace of mind.Dog

I've been riding since the mid '60's . . . . One of the few things in life that still give me butterflys in my stomach, is getting ready for a road trip. . . . Anyone else still get that?
Yeah, I do. I've got a few years on you, having started in all this in the mid-50s.
What I get are butterflies. Must be the age difference.
