Default Question about HD heated grips

I am undecided about these 2 differnt kinds of grips I want. One is rubber with white trim. Model #56512-02B. And the other is Leather with chrome trim. Model # 65107-03B. The dealer quoted me one and a half hours labor to install these. Does that sound about right. All imput greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bob.

Hi Bob...I can't answer your question there, but I thought I'd chime in on this....I do not have them personally..although I do alot of cold WX riding...I was thinking about heated gloves as an alternative to the grips due to both cost and peformance - - (I read on an earlier post that grips won't work as well as the gloves..)...just my .02

Somewhere else it was mentioned to seal the end caps with silicone or they will short eventually when they get wet.

I guess I'm lucky I have fat fingers... I'm still wearing summer weight gloves in the mid 30's with only mild discomfort.

Bob I cant give you an idea about heated or not heated but I installed the grips I bought myself I have never done them before and it took me about 15 minutes to do the non heated so you should be able to do them yourself and save the money on labor for the more expensive heated ones just my opinion if you need help on how to do it just ask

I did a search on the heated grips and 80% of the people said they were worthless. They either burned out shorted out. I have the heavy gauntlet gloves that work pretty well. On real cold days I will use the medical exam gloves for liners used them in the past worked good in real cold weather. Thanks for all the replys. Bob.
