So I went to the dealer today...to exchange my highway pegs and look at a sundowner seat.
I liked the seatI feel less cramped but for it to be really comfortable I still would like to get the handle bars pulled back.So I asked the same question I ask every time I go in....ABS brake line extension?
This time Ithe guy said that several places are doing them in the local area they are having custom cables made by a local company. So he called a local indy and asked, how much? The returned quote was $1600 - parts and labor for the installation of wildone chubbies on an ABS bike.[:@]
Are you sure that the Wild1 bars you want require an extension? I've also read reports of the '08's having a lot more electrcial wire tied up in the fairing than previous year bikes. I would be willing to bet the extra length for the FBY throttle is really in the fairing and just needs to be pulled out.
There has got to be an easy way to get those bars on for you. Keep trying. Have you rotated the bars back as far as they will safely go?

Blue, a local INDY shop near me said it's not a big deal and the line can be made just like any ABS line on anything, car, truck etc. After finding that out, I then found that the RK High bars are the ones for me and require nothing. Everyone I've talked to on here who has done them with a pre-08 bike says they love em and no cable changes. Just find a bar that has a few more inches higher or back a few and you'll be safe. The general concensus on here is that all the 08's have plenty of extra wire for a moderate bar swap. If you had a RK, you wouldn't have to fuss with the fairing....Why'd you buy that big 'ol whale anyways? God, that must be a huge difference from the Deluxe! Talk to http://www.hdbikeparts.com/, he on the forum as WILD1HD and he is saying the same thing about this whole ABS crap. The MOCO is trying to scare everyone into thinking it's a dealer job and can't be done by anyone else, but cmon, ABS has been on cars for years, and do we need to go to a dealer to get work done on them? No Les Schwab can do it! Or you can just wait for H-D to make some replacements. I can't wait and the 08 mod has been done by many on here, successfully..... I need better bars!!!!!!!! Good luck-
I put wildones 575 bars on my EGC( no ABS) There is plenty of wire for the FBW throttle control. I had to change out the clutch cable, I used a +4. I did not have to change out the brake lines. I would recommend extending the switch control wires, just for ease of re mounting the connectors NAMZ Custom Cycle Products
