Just did it on a friends Road Glide while at Bike Week. It's a lot easier than you think.

1. Locate the wire connector under the fairing & cut the tie wraps to allow you to use the slack in the harness.

2. Remove the twist grip for access to the "throttle by wire module".

3. Feed the slack from the fairing into the handlebar while gently pulling the module out of the end of the bar. The connector you need is about half way down in the bar. When you expose the little connector, just disconnect the module.

4. Slide the module into the new bars & use it to mark where to slot the bar. The slots need to be 7/32" to 1/4" deep.

5. Cut the notches, file smooth, & insert the module to check.

You pull the wire harness out of the old bars at the hole in the middle & feed it into the new bars the same way. When it comes out the end of the bar just plug the module back in & feed the harness back out the middle as you insert the module. Plug the harness back in, clamp down the bars, put the controls back on & you're done.

The only thing that didn't go as planned for us was that he wanted bigger grips, & the throttle grip has a notched end to fit the module (you'll see it when you pull it apart). We had to use the stock grips until someone starts makin' aftermarket grips with the notches.

Hope that helped........Ping me if I can be any help.

One other thing.
You'll notice that the throttle by wire unti fits snug.
So get close when you fit it on the end of the bars and hand dress it till it fits snug on the new bars.
You dont want slop or you will have a sloppy throttle.
Then we'll have to name you...
