painting my hardbags on '08 SG
Hey All:
How do I go about painting small details on the back of my hardbags on my '08 SG? More specifically, do I need to prep the bags in any special way? Do I need a special kind of paint?

You should roughin up the clear coat but not the base coat then paint it and clear back over them.

You will have to rough the whole bag up so the clear coat will adhear to the bag. I used a gel and scoth brite pade to rough the bags. You can get the gell at auto paint store and wet sand em down. I took the bags apart for easier painting.

Whoa boys. Do you really think learning to wet sand, paint details and then spray clear has any place on a brand new Harley.
Don't do it, you will make a big mess and it will cost you a lot more than letting a pro do it now.

I had a friend do the clear coat I did all the tear down and sanding the airbrushing is easy for me but left the clear coat to the pro!
