Be sure to use the Harley hand pump sold for this purpose. The amount/volume of air used to fill the shocks is VERY small and any standard air pump or compressor would blow the hell out of them. You'll see when you get it what I'm talking about. Surprisingly it's just a tiny "puff" of air that is needed to set the shocks, hence this tiny pump is what's best to use.

I have the HD pump. BUT If your really hurting for cash. Any sporting good store, or did I get this at a bike store, no I think it was Target, will have small hand held plastic air pumps for blowing up basket *****, footballs, etc.... Cheaper than 40.00. You will need a pressure gauge. I used to carry this with me when I was into 4 wheelers. Fixed many flat tires.

I have the Harley pump and keepit in my tour pack in the Harley tour pack organizer. Easy to check/adjust your air pressure for both the shocks and tires.

+15 on the H-D air pump. Like was said before, DO NOT use a standard hi volume compressor for your shocks.

I have a Progrsssive hand pump. Works great, but I have to overinflate the shocks slightlybecause of air pressure that'slost when unscrewingthehose connectorfrom the valve. An HD tech told me this happens with the HD pump, too. He saidthat mostHD techsgrindthehand pump's hose connectordown a fewthreads, so it can be removed faster.

Harley air pump. It also is "loss-less". When you connect it or disconnect it, no air pressure is lost like you will with a regular tire pump. There's hardly any air in your shocks even when you've got the pressure up, so if you think you've only let a little air out, you've probably lost most of it. The Harley model also comes with a pressure relief valve so you can easily let out small amounts of air to get your pressure exactly where you want it. It's one of the few things Harley makes that I think is worth the money!
