Default RE: How to , Quick Detach Ultra Tourpack?

If you do a search you can come up with some good information. I have a 05 ultra that I have wanted to do for a long time and I just decided that I'm going to do it. I have researched this a lot. I have the hidden antenna for under the fairing, going to remove both antenna's and put them under the side cover, bought 4 pin connectors to make quick connects under the seat, this way everything will stay together when I remove the tour pack. Pull the seat, pull 4 connectors and lift it off. Thats the plan anyway. Had a guy on here that gave me all the part numbers for the connectors and told me what to order. I like everthing just so, so I don't mind spending the money to have it right! Parts I have got are: quick disc rack, docking points, new licence plate bracket- slant one, hidden antenna, 4 connectors:2 lights, 1 speakers, 1 inter com, connectors were around $60.00 but I think it will be worth it! Don't care about the CB I don't use it.Good luck with yours.

I was going to go with the quick release setup on my king, however, after looking at the way the Ultra pack went on, I realized it was sooo not worth the $250 bucks for all the detachable parts. Its only 4 bolts that hold the factory rack on the bike. its pretty much a pull your seat, pull 4 bolts, and lift. I decided to run a light free pack, so I did not have to fool with all the wiring of the lights, but its pretty easy to add the wiring and make it quick disco as well. I know you can order the pins and connectors from HD, but what I did was buy a few damaged wire harnesses for the correct connectors. Unfortunately, the MFG that HD uses for its connectors are one of the more expensive suppliers. I have a ton of sealed connectors from GM and Honda, and you can pick up the pins in bulk for super cheap through the parts departments. I may just use some Chevy connectors as they are smaller, waterproof, and I wont have to solder wires together that way.
