Some days you fall in crap and it stinks [:'(]other times you come out smelling like a rose
Today, I went to my local HD shop which is sister store to FBI. I was picking up some black cherry paint for my next project when I decided to take a trip threw there "take off" area, I always do. There I seen some seats and I noticed a HD RK solo seat and I have been thinking about going solo butwith limited funds didn't think this would be possible for some time. I like my RK custom seat but on long trips the sew seams begin to hurt my rear and theparts guy said "yeah, heard the before." I asked as I was getting my paint about the seat in the back and he said "lets go take a look." So, anyways he says "ohh,.. how about 25 bucks?" I was thinking well yeah! I said ok and it came with some nice little thumb screws and the bracket that's mounted under the fender.. I thought I smelled pretty good!!! They always have treated me good and this is just another example. Just wanted to share my day with you all
Here is a pic.

So you paid for the seat after you got off your knees...right?

Yeah, Chad is a helluva guy. Has a ton of knowlege for being younger. He is a good parts man and always fixes me up!

Some of us Iowa guys should meet up sometime, b.s., and check out eachothers scoots. Bike nights in Indianola every Friday are big and DesMoines has a good one downtown. Be cool to put a face to you and just say hey! Ever see my scoot just say something.

I am always amazed at seeing guys buy new bikes, add all these things like pipes, seats, lights etc.. and not ask for the original parts back even though they paid full price for everything! I saw a guy add the SE guages and inner fairing to an Ultra with the piano black one and leave all that behind.. yikes!

I never understood why I have to ask for my stuff back. That always ticked me off. I paid for the original stuff, its not theirs to sell in the first place.

I shouldn't have to ask for my stuff back after I spent money buying more things.....

I don't know, maybe I'm screwed up - this practice just never made sense to me.

You're right! You shouldn't have to ask for it back and it should be a matter of course for you to get it back without having to ask. I think many dealers do make sure they get take-off parts back to you, but there are other dealers that don't and it doesn't seem to be that uncommon a practice.

Sometimes it might just be an oversight of the mechanic to not bring the take-off's out, but it is also done deliberately too, and if you don't ask for your original parts you don't get them.

Shouldn't be that way, but I've seen it over and over, with no discount on the bill or agreement for trade-in or anything like that.

Creepshow got a great deal on a seat through! I've not seen a dealer actually sell take-off's to the general public, they must really like him.
