Yeah, I just bought a rattle can of HD black cherry paint 20 bucks but they where out of clear. He told me HD paint was PPG and I could get clear anywhere PPG was sold. Nobody carries it here soI will have to order some from HD I guess... Can't believe your dealer told you that!

Next time you visit your HD store's parts counter, ask to see the HD Paint catalog--usually it's used to order painted parts for bikes with damaged fenders, tanks, etc. In the back it also has PN's for touch-up, aerosol, and quarts for HD colors--jot down the PN's for your bike's colors for future reference.

Your dealer is a moron. [sm=bs.gif] I ordered one several months ago. My bike is vivid black (the fastest color). The kit came with a bottle of vivid black, along with a bottle of clear.

Dawg, thanks for the update on the paint book. I need to add a disclaimer that I'm a civilian, not affiliated with HD in any way and have no more information than would be availabe to a person on good terms with the parts folks at my local HD store.

I just got the kit for m ine ('05 Sunglo Blue) and the top coat bottle is marked Sunglo Blue, but the base is labeled Chopper Blue.
The dealer tells me that's right, but they lie.
Anybody know?
