Painting Inner Fairing
Well, my winter projects are almost to an end or at least the end is in site. I've installed new V & H true duels headers, new Peacemakers exhaust, new pull back handlebars, heated hand grips, added new LED's and rewired my existing LED's, putting on the new clutch, and throttle & idle cables this week end ( waiting for the throttle & idle to come in from Harley). Of course there has been some new chrome added also, here and there.
I'm waiting for the paint to come in from Color-rite to paint the inner fairing, should be here tomorrow. My bike is Glacier White Pearl, I have done painting before on cars, bikes, and boats I've had over the years. I have all the spray equipment I need to do the job, I have just never painted plastic before.
I've searched the forum over and read everything I can find on it and printed most of it out. Before everyone starts with take it to a real painter, I'd love to but right now I had better not push it with my better half as I've exceeded my budget this winter. She has been great too, as long as the bills are paid and the kids school is paid each year she is happy. With 2 kids in collage it eats up $ 25,000 per year after the grants, scholarships, and the states big lottery ($2,000 per year per child) fund,we have already puttheolder 3 through collage this way.
Any help on the painting process would be greatly appreciated, I'm not in a big hurry, would love to be riding but would love to get the fairingpainted done also.
I hate this forum sometimes, every time I think I'm about done with my baby, one of you yahoos come along withsomething I need. This is worst than a drug habit, the Harley addition.
Sorry for the long post, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Where is Dawg and Philm, I know you two have suggestions.
I appreciate any help. Thanks.
Like I said earlier, never painted plastic, so any help or advice would help. Thanks.
