Been there n done that.....Last week at dealer ALL 10-12 bikes had huge gap in visor ring.
All I did to get mine to fit properly was toss the original ring in the trash, make a few bends to expand light bulb mounting ring and then install the new ring over it.....It fits flawlessly and very tight.
Pretty much the same here. I also did the Installation Instructions and ended up with a small gap. I could actually hear a whistle going down the road. So I pitched the original ring and modified the head lamp mounting plate and now all is well.
Are you talking about the Custom Chrome version? I don't believe Kuryakyn makes trim rings. If you are... I got one because of all the bad press the HD visor ring was getting. The CC ring is a different design. It's a solid ring, so there is no gap to speak of. I've got it installed along with the HD passing and turn rings. They look fine together, but I think I still prefer the look of the HD headlight ring when it's installed without the gap... it sticks out much farther than the CC and gives more of a frenchedlook.
I guess thats the one I'm talking about. I thought I read here that Kury made one. Guess not. I'll probably go with the HD so every thing matches right. I'll just have work with it to get that gap closed.
Thanks for all the replies. Lot of good tips on how to make this thing work.
