Default disconnect 08 security system

is there any way to disconnect a security system on a 08 model. I ordered mine without the security system, i just dont like them and i never used to even carry my key fob. Now with this new passive system you have to carry it with you. So i was just wondering if anyone new how to disable it????

Wrong.............. the owners manual tells you how to disarm the alarm however as soon as you move the ignition switch the alarm is re-armed. The only way to completely disarm the alarm is to have your dealer (because they have the super secret code) put the bike in service mode. That will completely disarm the alarm. Now here is the next twist you cannot have the key fob anywhere near the bike or the bike alarm will automatically re-arm again out of service mode. My dealer took my key fobs and put the batteries upside down. So the fob doesn't find the alarm and re-arm. Anytime I want to start using the alarm again I just flip the batteries and its back.

Your dealer can put it into "service mode" at which point its disabled as long as you remove the batteries from your fobs while they are well away from the bike. (if you put the batteries back in, and bring the fobs near the bike, it will re-activate)

They did that on mine when the system was acting up. (bad antennae) while they ordered the needed part.

so it goes on and off automatically with the key fob in your pocket. You don't have to do anything to it and you don't want it. I don't understand, they made it that easy and you don't want it.

Just throw your fob into the saddlebag. Then you don't have to worry about forgetting it. And when someone steals your bike, don't come on here pi$$ing and moaning!!!!!!!!!

Now that sounds like a good idea.
