Bad News..Michelin Commander
Was just saying the compounds in motorcycle tires are different than autos.
They are made to offer low rolling resistance as in autos, but they need more friction
to grip road better. This softness causes a lower wear ratio.
I went to metzlers 8 years ago, haven't looked back.
I always have gotten on my FLTR, Flhrp, and EGC's 12k and better from them.
except one year when I had a fat G/F on the back most of the time.
hopefully it was just a defective tire.
But the compound in bike tires is a lot different than in automotive.
So don't use that as a criteria for selecting a tire for the bike.
choochoo,
It's about SIXdefective Michelin tires on the sametruck.
Soooo many defective Michelin tires they had to purchase a machine to shave them.
The total lack quality and service from Michelin.
Do you really think they put more quality in their motorcycle tires as compared to cars & trucks?
Aren't you the guy who went to small claims court over a air temperature gauge??
Ride well,

I just cleaned mine yesterday for the first time. They sure look good all cleaned up but WAPITA.
Gunworks, What can you tell us about the run flat tires? Any safer? Better milage?
Safer? A motorcycle with a flat is unsafe to ride or an instant blowout on the freeway will be potentially deadly. With a Police tire....the strong sidewalls keep the rim off the ground so you don't loose control of the bike. A bike mounted with the Police tire that is completely flat can still be ridden (slow and more careful) where a stock OEM tire will leave you stranded.
In my opinion, they should all have Police tires.
Someone earlier mentioned from going from a 150 to a 130....why not you ask? The 130 is much less expensive than the 150 and does just as good. Remember, all the older Electra Glides used the 130 up until 2003 or 2004. It wasn't uncommon for the 130 to get more miles than the 150 either. I personally belive Harley went with 150 is because of the "look" because people for some reason love fat tires. Almost all the Metrics use fat tires....Harley thought they should do the same.
