Went from a Sportster 883 to the RK ... all pros, no cons although having previously had a V-Star whichwas a large enough bike didn't hurt in adapting somewhat to the RK.
Went from 07 FXDC to 08 RK. Huge difference in comfort...and a bit of a different ride all together. I have to agree it's like comparing a sports car to a cadillac. I loved my Dyna...but I was beginning to take longer and longer trips. There is no comparison on the touring aspect, just ask my wife.
If you really believe the RK is the bike you belong on...go for it. I have nothing but great things to say about the Dyna, but I would highly recommend the RK based on your reasons for considering.
Enjoy and good luck! You are definately in a win-win.
To continue the story.....Wideglide lasted a month before I realized what I really wanted was the RKC. It came in two weeks ago. When you start at 52 years old, you have to make up for lost time. The RKC is a keeper.
