Default From a Dyna to a Road King...pros/cons?

Hey guys,
I've got an '07 FXDC Super Glide Custom & have recently been giving alot of thought to buying a Road King Classic. Don't get me wrong...I'm very happy with my bike & it's performed above & beyond for me time and time again. Of all the different H-D's out there there'sONLY ONEbike I'd give up my FXDC for...the RK! It's just whenever I see or just sit on a RK I crack a little smile & say to myself "this is the bike for me...this is the bike I belong on"!

I was just wondering, did any of guys come off a Dyna before owning yours? What was some of the first differences you noticed right off the bat? Pros/cons when compared to riding a Dyna? Do you really feel as though your now sitting ON the bike instead of IN the bike as on a Dyna? Thanks.
Ian

More comfort, was the first thing I noticed.

Really...even sitting up higher with your back perfectly straight?

I had a superglide then went to a wideglide. I loved the seating position and handlebar position of the wideglide. Just got my 08 RKC two weeks ago. Very easy to ride. I think it's easier and every bit as much fun as the dyna's to ride. Because of how much I liked the wideglide bars, I did just order Chubby 518 bars for the RKC. I've been smiling ever since I got the new one. I don't think you'd ever regret to move. I picked the Road King because I thought it was the best of both worlds (Dyna and Touring).

I came from a 2003 FXDL Dyna Low Rider to the 2007 FLHRC Road King Classic.

Pros: Lovely smooth comfortable ride due to superior suspension and balloon tyres. Any poor road surface is less noticeable. Much less tiring to cover long-distances. Great with luggage and pillion. Classic styling.

Cons: Not so easy to man-handle withoutengine assistance, maybe not as pretty (?)

Since most of the time you are riding, pros easily outweigh the cons.

I will never go back.

Hi guy's, i went from a 2004 superglide to a 2006 roadking standard, the comfort was what i was looking for on longer rides. Plus the roadking having floorboards so you can shift your feet around while riding is great compared to foot pegs, plus all the storage room with the saddlebags.

I agree that about the only disadvantage to theRKC is pushing it around without the use of the motor. But the day the dealer let me test drive one I was sold before I got out of the parking lot. It's a great ride and so easy. I've only been riding since last summer and in that short time I went from sportster to dyna to RKC. For me each move up was more fun and surprisingly easier (although for all of you experienced riders you already knew that the touring bikes are easy to ride. It's just hard for a beginner to believe that at first).

I went from a 04 Dyna (carb) to a 07 SG---the first thing that became apparent was the weight of the SG---took a couple of laps in the dealer parking lot to get use to it. It definetly rides better on the highway---anything 90mph and below is good.

The storage cannot be beat, no more back packs---plus the RKC is best looking bike HD makes.

I have had both and loved them both for different reasons. Not really fair to compare the two. It is kind of like comparing a Corvette to a Cadilac. I guess only you can really tell based on your riding style. If you like it fast in the twisites keep the Dyna. IF you and your wife enjoy long cruises then you can't beat the RK.
