I had them on my 88,91, and 97 Ultras. When I bought the 02, my parts man would NOT sell me one because the MOCO had decided that they would make the TC 88 run hot. Go figure! I still don't have one on the 02.

Bought the chrome one, they had it in stock. I like it, definitely reduced buffeting for me.

Service manual says remove it above 70 to provide relief to the rider.

Absolutely, I had mine put on prior to riding
the new Ultra home. Yes, a simple install but
I am 80 miles from dealership and have chosen
not to ride without one on the bike.

Default You mean fork deflectors not wind deflector

Many people make the mistake of mounting them backwards, by attaching them to the wrong fork.

I have about 1/4" of clearance when the forks are at full lock, as shown in the picture.

I think the question is about the wind deflector which has a half moon/mezzaluna look to it. I installed it on my 04 Ultra and it helped with buffeting. I purchased a set of used fork deflectors from a forum member and cannot get them adjusted to work with my Ultra and the lowers on. I still have them if someone wants to buy them.
