Default Security System Pager Receiver II

Here is some good info for those using the Pager Receiver II for the Harley Smart Siren II system.

Harley went and developeda rechargeable version of the Pager II, butI already have the standard version with the CR2450 battery that has beenreplaced 3-4 times. I boughtanother CR2450 today. After I got homeI realized that Ipurchased a rechargeable book light about 2 months ago, for the wife, and ituses rechargeablecoin batteries. I pulled the batteries todayand found that they wereLIR2450 rechargeable batteries "SON OF A BISCUIT EATER". After thoroughly kicking myself in the a$$, I just did some research and found this (if link stops working just search Ebay for LIR2450):
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Li-Ion-Button-...QQcmdZViewItem

For the price of about four CR2450s I get a charger, a battery and a spare battery charged andready to go.The battey is supposed tobe good for 500 charges. So for those of you that don't want to drop $70 for the new version and tired of buying the CR2450s, here is a very reasonable product.

The bad thing is I've been leaving the pager in the drawer because of the battery issue. Just wish I had found this charger before I bought so many standard batteries. If they're not listed on Ebay anymore, just google search the battery number. Found couple business that had them (as seperate items and as kit), but shipping to Hawaii was outrageous....$18-20in some cases, then did the Ebay search.

I'll wait for a report after reading his feedback on batteries.

Yea, I saw that, but my requirement was not being raped on shipping charges, plus anything looked at onEbay needs to be researched...buyer beware. Most of that was the larger batteries. If you look atsome of the other sites that carry it, they may get italmost as cheap, ifshipped CONUS. This is the other cheap source I found, but the $18shipping to Hawaii was too much, but shipping to SC was$7:

Oh yea, more info: Because they are rechargeable, theLIR2450s hold a smaller capicity charge so they will not last as long. Whenyou look at the number of charges (500) per battery (x2) you still save a significant amount of money. If I did my math right (using .2ma discharge rate) you will rotate the LIRs 18 times in a year compared to 4-5 standard cells. Seeing that you can get two LIR cells for $5 +shipping, and the CRs are 3.99 at walmart. So doing some more math, in 4-5 years I hope to havesaved enouth money to buy a new exhaust system, or seat, or set of tires....

Another note: it is recommended that you charge the cells together and not one at a time. So charge both and use until both need charged again.

Default UPDATE

Received the charger and batteries pretty quickly, The charger is 3.25x2.25" and plugs directly into an outlet (a nice feature...tired of power bricks and cords running everywhere).Put the batteries into the charger and the power led lights up before plugging into the outlet (not sure why). So you won't leave batteries in the charger after they are charged or the power led will drain them eventually. Left it charging overnight and when I checked the next morning the full LED was lit. So far so good.

I placed a battery into the pagerand removed the other battery from the charger for later use when this one gets low. I'm leaving the pager on for the next few days to see how long the unit will run on these batteries. The standard batteries are supposed to last 40-45 days. Based on that the dischage rate is actually .6mah.That means that these rechargeables should last at least 6 days. Will report back when I find out how long the batteries actually last.
