Anyway I can program this thunder max w/o a lap top other than lugging computer out to shop about 10 miles away.Damn maybe should can fi crap and buy a carb.to much junk and cost to these things.A simple mechanicla fuel pump, injector, barrle valve and few by pass poppets would be easier add some highspeed lean outs and we are rocking.Ok back to problem at hand Have new thundermax have program picked oh sorry map(thought was picture of roads),problem cant put map into bike withoput power for thundermax, cant get 10 mile cable to shop, and cant load laptop without internet connection. So any ideas for gearhead that hate a F___ing computer.
Had a similar problem, but not a ten mile lug. Had to do the internet downloading upstairs where the modem is, then had to haul all computer crap down to the garage to connect it to the bike. After I thought I had it all finished, someone on this damn forum brought up the issue of new firmware. Two more trips later, all was done and I love the way the bike runs(FINALLY)! It's worth the effort, but I agree that a good old fashioned carb is a lot more user friendly. Hang in there, you'll love it when your cruising down the road!
i just pull up to the windo outside the office and plug into the computer. You can get a long extension wire to plug into and drop it out a window if you had to? Not sure what you are using for the upload but when I used the PCIII i had about 6 serial wire connected together, now with the usb you can get an avtive usb2 wire that can be used up to 40' lengths
thinks but my apartments little ways away from drive and bike at shop just spent 5 nights frabricating all new sheet metal and adding new cams, pistons heads and bigger injector.plus wiring cruise control(damn little switchs) and had to wire the two new rear turn signals(dbl barrel shotguns that light up(now back the f___ off my a___) sure get their attention.guess its computer tear down time
I'm not to far from you, I have laptop and can travel. Looks like crappy weather all week, pick a day and shoot me a pm. I already have the software loaded.
If you have a laptop but no internet connection for it maybe due to location, put what you need on a flash drive....$20, and load it on the laptop that way.
