I don't understand why some guys build motors and don't ride over a 80 MPH. That's like buying a Corvette and obeying the speed limits all the time. As far as FL I recieve a ticket there doing 95 and nothing happen but getting a ticket.
Don't know when you received that ticket, I would not try it now, your bike will be at the next auction, no doubt about it.
Boy,I thought those baggers went faster,my 883 goes 90 no problem.I'd think a mill 2x the size would have a better top end.
wind resistance, weight
back in the mid 80s I had a little 650 yamaha virago[8D]and would cruise around with a couple of guys with new goldwing aspencades. I think they where 1200s (maybe 1500s). Anyway, we would top them out on the backroads sometimes and I would just lay on the tank with my full face helmet on and pull ahead of them. Don't really know how fast it was since the speedo only went to 85, but the tach was redlined. My police RK is supposed to have a calibrated speedo, it'll go about 105 in 4th (redline) and is pretty steady and then shifting to 5th MIGHT give a little more if you stay on it but it's a very slow creep (depending on the wind direction). This is with the standard windshield and passing lamps. Take that stuff off and it'll go faster but that's not its design

Thus the term âCruiserâ âŚunless youâre a CRUISE ârâ missle, then you donât need to go faster than 90mphâŚ.IMHO
