Even with the state of things now, buying at MSRP is just fine. My local dealer is 2K over, and will not negotiate.
Flame me all you want but this is the reason I recently decided against buying a new Ultra and am buying a new Goldwing instead, because I'm getting the Wing at $4,200 below MSRP. Harley dealers can go screw themselves for what they are charging you guys. But what kills me is you guys keep paying whatever thestealer tells you to.It's just a bike for Pete's sake.

Sorry for the rant, nothing personal.
No offense taken AZ. Different strokes...part of the reason I got a SG was due to looking at my friends old GW. Where I live, they're close to the same price though...I actually paid less for my SG vs a GW without nav.
If I wanted an RV, I probably get one that I would stay dry in while using it. [sm=laughingsmilie.gif]

For those who understand, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible.
If you're not much of a mechanic, you may want to check into a prepaid maintenance plan. My dealer offers a pretty good discount for their plan; I think it saves you around $500.00 over the life of the plan. At least you know your regular services will be covered so you can start saving your pennies for engine mods and chrome.
Judging by your screen name you might be from Long Island....If that is correct I might be able to steer you towards a dealer....Or away from some .....I recently bought two bikes and the difference among the dealers out here was incredible........PS....If you're not from Long Island......"Nevermind"....
Thanks for all responses both positive and negative, always like to know all sides of the issue. Anyone with any further info, I'mlistening and appreciate your input. Thanx again.

Sorry for sorry man, thought about it a lot, just can't go with the two wheeled SUV.
I know I'm a cynicle S.O.B. but, buy only what you want and know what you want before you sit down with the paper work person. Pay attention to the bottom line. Most dealers of anything are in the business of doing business. Maximize your enjoyment of this major purchase(for me) by being happy later with the price pay now. I would hold off on modifications or accesories until you know what you really want( I want gas, hotel and tires). Extended warranty is an insurance policy I dont need because if the product is no good I'll find out before the first warranty expires and try something different. If you want these products I have found you can buy the same coverage for about a third of the cost from an agent with alot less overhead. I am really really enjoying my bike.It was exciting (Boing) pole vaulting from the car to the receiption desk at the motorcycle boutique and when the girl said " Can I help you" me saying "I'm here to by a motorcycle" She's probably thinking what a weenie. P.S. StrongIslander Thank's for the soap box, It's been a long winter.
You're welcome. Yeah, winters been long all over, may sound weird but twice this past winterI grabbed a beer and went out to the unheated garage to admire my scoot. My wife just LHAO.
On the extended warranty, dealer told me after I bought it, all warranties were voided by most mods, dealer installed or not, I assumed the risk, never went back to that dealer again...
