Default chrome lowers

Have a 07 Ultra classic wanting to put chrome lowers on Is it for average Mechanic or left to the stealers

an average mechanic can do it with a service manual and if you take your time removing your front fender and cover other painted parts. You will also need the tool to set your fork rings.

I did all the R&Rwork on my bike this spring. I took the legs into my local INDY and had them put inthe lowering kit and chrome parts on. It cost me a whole $80 and I know it's done right.

I think of myself as somewhat below average in mechanical aptitude but I've done it 3 times now on 3 different bikes (with a buddy), most recently on my Ultra.

Very easy to do.............get the service manual and you'll be good to go.

Get yourself a peice of 1-1/2" pvc pipe to use as a seal setter.............that's the only special tool you'll need.

Stay out of the dealer and you'll know it's done right.

I assume he means fork seals?

I was searching different areas for the same info and I found this link. This is a step by step for the lower switch. I have not tried it as yet but it seems straight forward.
