Terry thanks for the suggestion, right after I sent the message I started thinking about it and thought hey why dont you try loosing up the mirrors. Guess I was in a daze and not thinking, oh well must be thinking about riding instead of working.
OK guys I have a question about your road glides. I just picked mine up last week and love it to death but the mirrors seem to be a bit small for me, no matter how I adjust them I am having problems seeing behind me. Has anyone changed out there mirrors?
Yes. One of my first upgrades. Kuryakyn has a set of extended mirrors that looks great on RGs. And you can see waaaaaaaay behind you.

I know exactly what you're talking about! My problem was that my shoulder took up half the viewing area of the mirror.
I ended up getting the "long stem" Kuryakyn billet "looking" mirrors. THey look just like the hight $$$ HD ones, but they're ~$35 each.
Probably should also note that I replaced the stock bars w/ WideGlide bars, which not only feel better, but they more the mirrors out even further. BTW - stock cables, wiring, and brake line work with the WideGlide bars.

Yes, I had the same problem, couldn't see past may shoulders. I put on the Harley extended stem mirrors, and that helped a little, but not as much as I wanted. So, I ended up putting on mini ape handle bars, and now I can see great, and the 600 miles I rode in Daytona, was very comfortable. The bike fits me perfect now!!!!!!! I luv it even more, and didn't think that was possible!!!!!!!
there is a post here from a member talking about a friend that changed a road glide into a batwing bike,, it was stated that all worked well even used the same wiring harness.. I have posted the two pic here of the two different harness for the flhtci and the roadglide. moving from the road glide to the batwing should work easy (wiring harness) because ALL of the harnes goes into the batwing faring... in reverse - you will see that the wiring harness "bundling" is different because part goes into the main fairing and some goes into the nacell where the speedo and tac are located.... Keep in mind here, I am NOT a Harley mech, only a guy who is about to do this swap from a flhtci into a road glide - if I am wrong, please tell me...
I wonder about the length of the fairing end of the harness. The radio, gauges (minus speedo / tach) are further forward on the FLTR than the FLHT. May or may not make a difference. I could see that taking up slack going from RG to EG would be easier than stretching it for the EG to RG. It is possible that the Speedo / tach bundle may be able to be split from the rest to get it back to the new location, but I really dunno either....
Also noticed in the diagrams that the EG diagram is FLHT & the RG is FLTRI. THe injected bike will have additional wiring that may make the layout look different on paper.

main difference is that the speedo and tac portion of the harness is bundled together and "could be longer?" so it spits from the rest and goes into the nacell area... After I do this, I will post the pics and how it went.. there is a member on this post that is about to do this also.. I have pm'd and ask for a call so we could compare notes... The only way I could do the math on this project and make it work is dealing with Chicago HD - no sales tax, 20% off list and no shipping (they do charge a super small handling fee but so far that amount is about the price of dinner and when you see the boxes that it took to ship the inner and outer fairing.... its a Deal... If I had to pay the HD retail and have the HD shop do this @ $70 an hour - better off to buy a new bike... This way, I keep my bike and I will have a black/chrome motor and be just a little different on the road

While in Daytona we saw the guys at FBI (Fat Bagger INC) and saw the 240 kit on it as well. The say it does not affect the handeling. The only thing that was stopping me was the $4200.00 for the kit and the install. It did look pretty cool.
I invested in a new seat also while in Daytona, got the Danny Gray solo seat which looks pretty dang slick. The only problem is that it pushed me about an inch back from the bars so I am installing the chrome Heritage Softail bars. I was told these are the bars that they have on the Police issue roadkings.
