Default Differences in Tire Pressure…

I watch my tire pressure pretty closely. While the manual says 36 front and rear for solo riding ('08 UC), I usually run 37 front and 38 rear. But if I add just a pound or two more than that in both, the ride becomes harsh.

The lower pressures give a smooth ride but how much mileage do I give up (if any) running the lower pressures?

Tire or fuel mileage?
If anything,I would say the tires would wear faster and sacrafice traction.

I run 36 front 40 rear all the time. It worked well on my old RK and got pretty decent mileage out of the tires.

Do you check your pressure in your shocks?

I,m running 38 front and 40 rear. I have 11K plus on the rear tire and have about 4/32 tread left. These are the D402s on the King. I run my shock presure at 20lbs for 2 up and 15 for solo.

It seems to work well for me. I check my air presure weekly

40-42 rear and 38-40 front. I'd rather have better handling than save a couple of cents on a tire.
