I feel your pain man, I love the classiclook of my Classic King but wanted the tunes. I already had bought too many accessories (IMO) to trade so I bought a fairing. I do a lot of 2-up and overnighters so I have a tour-pak too. Now I can still strip it down when I feel like it.
1. Its really cold out (how often are you going to ride like that)
2. If you really want to look like you're on an old man's bike. Yes, even the SG looks like an old man's bike to me. They can sport it up all they like, but that batwing fairing says "old man" in capital letters!
There is nothing that makes a Street Glide an old mans bike. It's been the #1 selling Harley going on 3 years. Onr Damn cool looking ride. Do I feel old with Rock n Roll blaring out my batwing and skulls painted on my fairing? NO[:@]
Struck a never, did I!!
Well, maybe you don'tfeel old, but you sure look old!!
ZPA, I bet if you did a poll. Road king owners are probably the age as SG owners.Them old man bags
Yes, you're right. I hope you know I was kidding before.
To be honest, the SG is obviously more bike. You get everything that you have on the RK, plus a great fairing and a stereo.
I bought the RK because I like the looks and feel of naked bikes and I don't like fairings, but looks are subjective. Pound for pound the SG gives you more, no doubt, but I still don't want one.
Sides, don't want to look like an old man.[sm=happybounce.gif]
. ZPA you are hillarious. I am with you. I work in the mountains in Colorado. Even in the Summer the ride down can be pretty cold and long. I want to do Sturgis this year and just can't imagine a long ride without a fairing. If I wiun the lotto I will have the SG, Cross bones, Night Rod, and Ultra
RKC for me, I like how versatile it can be with switching bags and adding a variety of windshields or fairings in minutes. I have 3 sets of saddlebags, 2 leather and one hard police set, 3 windshields, 2 sets of tires and wheels, 4 different ends for the exhaust, 3 front fenders, 2 sets of side covers, a couple horn and air cleaner covers and other stuff and am looking for a Batwing to add to the mix.It can go from a wide whitewalled spoked wheeled full fendered chromed out classy Road King Classic to a much more sporty looking ride with Street Glide black wheels and blackwalls, Fatboy fender in front and a short smoked shield or anywhere in between. Some folks I ride with time to time think I have different bikes. You can lower any bike.It is a lot of fun and you will no douobt enjoy whatever you choose.
Get what ya like, me it is the RKC, I am not a big radio fan, I like to ride, enjoy the scenery, and just relax. Thats why I having the Rineharts put on, better sound that what comes out of the radio.....lol....
