I am wanting to put pull back bars H-D part # 55914-98 on my 08 Ultra. Anybody know if I will have problems with the throttle by wire? Or any reason they won't work on the 08 bike?
thanks
That number only fits through 2007 models.
You would have to modify the right end and make a slot at the center clamp to run your throttle by wire setup. https://www.hdforums.com/m_2183159/tm.htm
Here's what dawg did , which would be similar to what you would have to do for the pullback bars.
If you check with Khromewerks , they're coming out with a setup for the 08's that will be like the 300505 bars , with the mods you would need.
Just a thought.
Mick
Just had my dealer put 07 bars on my 08 ultra, had to put the notches and cut off 1/2 inch on the right end, and put a hole for the TBW to come out in the bottom center, TBW is long enough for the 2" pullbacks. The ABS was ok also. The only change they had to do was the clutch cable, bout 35 bucks.
Ranger1 they must have charged you extra labor for the clutch cable install because that takes quite a bit of work to install clutch cable (remove exhaust).
