Just changed out the inner fairing, which entailed removing all guages etc, now the reserve is not showing on the speedo when i cycle thru trip a, trip b etc. Any ideas why? or how to fix it so it works again?thanks
I refer to my low fuel light my '04 Ultra as the "F--- You light", 'cause tht's exactly what the bike is telling me. If I wait until it comes on my tank takes between 4.7 to 4.8 gallons on a 5 gallon capacity. No kidding. I use the trip odometer and known fuel economy. Never go wrong that way. HD fuel gauges are decorative ornaments (as are the air temp gauges!)
P.S.: You can buy a 1 gallon gas container from J&p Cycles for about $33 that is designed to fit in the rear of a HD saddle bag. It doesn't take up much room, and is spill proof. I carry one just in case my head is up my a-- some day my f--- you light comes on too far from a gas station (on my bike that's not too far!!!). FYI
Hey Jason, when that low fuel warning light comes on, the ere is a count down (to empty) timer that automatically activates and is displayed in your LCD screen. I have a 2011 RK and its there.
Yeah Ive got the 6 gallon tank and when my odo hits 200 I know I best be filling up soon...my gas light flashes somewhere around 175-180 but I usually still have a couple gallons remaining.
