i currently use amsoil 20/50 v twin in the primary and engine and amsoil severe duty 75/140 in the trans .change engine oil a 5k and the other two at 10k.
changed all three today and noted the engine oil black-primary black but not as black as the engine. and trans pretty much clear and new looking.
should i be changing the primary sooner or using a different fuid maybe??? or should i be unconcerned. nothing on magnet for engine and very little-very fine deposit on trans and prim plugs.[sm=feedback.gif]
I think it may be the clutch making the oil black,I use Amsoil ATF in the primary for the last 18,000 miles but I've been changing it at 5,000 miles and its pretty much pink yet.
[sm=popcorn.gif] I like Amsoil too, and after 5000 miles on the new 08SG I am ready to use it now.. SO general consensus is using the 75/140 throughout?
