Default Quick release fairing lowers

Does anyone have the quick release hardware on their fairing lowers? I have an 08 Ultra and have been thinking about getting the hardware, but have 2 questions....1) is the quick release hardware very hard to put on? 2) Does it make the lowers much easier to take off?

I put them on my 07 ultra. It was an easy install and it is easy to remove them. When taking them on and off w/o, you need tools, and, if I remember right, there is a rubber compression washer on the bottom that will likely need to be replaced often. I plan on taking mine off for the summer and will likely put them back on if on a trip where I could hit rain or when cold weather comes.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to check into getting the hardware. I like the idea of being able to take the lowers off when I do some practicing of ride like a pro slow speed stuff....it looks to me like on the 08s going over would make a mess out of the lowers. Plus I like the idea of just being able to take them off in hot weather.

The ones I've seen are in the Harley parts and accessory catalog.

I am thinking about doing the same thing. Will you post what you find out? Thanks.

I've "heard" they are not worth the money, and you could probly take the fairings off either way in about the same time. Sure you don't need tools, but if you want to get the proper torque on them, you'll need tools anyway.

This is just what I've "heard"... I take mine off and on as-is frequently also when I practice......

So, to each his/her own
