My 07 FLHX sometimes stalls when I pull the clutch in.I have read some threads on this problem but no one gives an answer why.How many others are having the same problem, and what type of fuel management system are you running? The dealer cant find my problem but wants to point at the Fuelpack.I have friends with the same bike and the same problems, they even have Racetuners and PCIII.Our dealer cant find the problem, please help!!!
The bike has Rinehart true duals,Vance and Hines Fuel Pack,Sceamin Eagle high flow air cleaner.Accessories wereinstalled by me,with 100miles on the bike.It started this shortly after the 1000 mile service. The bike has 2600miles on it now. When this happens it does it a couple of times in a row,and then the bike runs fine.It usually happens after a long period of highway speed, and then you pull the clutch in to gear down the engine dies.If you give it a littlethrottle when this happens it will stay running, then let off the throttle and it dies.
I had this problem with my 07 it was very frustrating and the dealer could not figure it out. I was actually on the edge of having the bike lemoned since it was really unsafe, especially at low speeds. The dealer did supposedly fix the issue but it was right before I put it away for the winter so I am still not sure whether or not it is fixed. The fix was the IAC valve, I guess it was getting stuck when running at a constant speed for a while and when you came to a stop of pulled in the clutch the bike would die. Have them check that out.
I haven't had that problem but it does some weird stuff sometimes. Yesterday, I cranked up and took off. Got down the road and noticed the fuel light on...full tank of gas. I pulled over and turned it off and restarted.....fuel light off. Go figure. Also sometimes the security light comes on... I don't have security.
Hope you find the problem. Much more serious problem than mine.
Mine didnt throw a code either. According to the dealer when the IAC sticks the computer is not told anything is wrong. This is the comparison they told me "Lets say you ask your wife to make dinner, when you get home she made chickent but you really wanted steak. She did nothing wrong because she did what you asked" Have them switch out the IAC
