Windshield Height - BMW
Friend of mine just purchased a BMW and I was amazed on the engineering design of the windwhield. Simply depress a toggle and the windshield raises or lowers. Dang that certainly beatscutting the stock HD or purchase of another windshield.
He didn't like the amount of light projected by the tour pac on the BMW, therefore he purchased two 4" X 6" truck LEDs and attached them to the bottom of the tourpack. WOW what lighting, thinking about doing that to my ULTRA.
yeah i had an 07 bmw rt the electric windshield was one of my favorite parts of the bike. you could change the amount of air being pushed on you at the flick of a switch. worked gret in the rain almost created a bubble and kept you pretty dry.
It's little things that add up though. Like Ford's tailgate lock. Once Ford put it on their trucks, GM guys would walk into the dealer and say to the salesman, when is GM going to ... well you know.
So if you buy a Ultra classic, why not make it an option on it, and reverse would be nice also (BMW). OK let the fun begin.
I ride a Deuce so what do I know.

SOME things make sense...others don't. Wings have reverse as well. Used ta be kinda fun ta jest not care how/whar ya parked. Now ah actually THINK 'bout what ah'm doin'.
It's also added weight/cost....then again, until recently the stock Honda radio wuz akin ta what used ta be in a Ford Pinto - an' let's talk 'bout what it takes ta change the air filter on a Wing, eh?

If only the rest of the BMW had been as good~ Owned the bike for 5 years, & spent 3 of those years waitin' for BMW to correct the other problems. Finally came back to a bike I knew I could live with. The Road Glide ain't perfect, nothing is, but it's a far more enjoyable bike! The power windshield doesn't add much weight. It's a simple power window motor & arm mechanism. The cost is mostly exorbitant because it can be, & it has BMW stamped on it.

I've owned seven Beemers, all except for one had an electric windshield. Yep, one of the best features on their bikes. Put it up at highway speeds and down for cruising around town. I can't say a bad word about any of them, but if your on a long trip the dealerships are far and few between if you need one. As much as I love my Harley, if it were ever stolen I might consider another BMW. JMO.
