Can anyone please tell me how do you remove the clear plastic cover over the headlights on a 2008 Road glide?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. [sm=confused06.gif]
At the bottom you'll find 2 clips that are part of the cover. Just use a flatbladed screwdriver. Put the screw driver in and push it up. Do the same on the other side.
There are also two at the top. The bottom ones are bigger. Once you get it off you'll see how easy it is. Don't worry, there's no hidden screws or anything else.
Yes, that's the one. This is anew bike.I am noticing that water is somehow getting 'under' the cover and getting on the headlights during rain rides and when I wash the bike. Thanks for the help. I will try it.
The paint comes off? Also, why have they not come up with some sort of a cover for the Road Glide faring face to keep it dry during a washing. Getting water on the speaker grills is a real pain.
It worked. Thanks for the advice. What is Harley Davidson thinking though. Putting a screw driver between 2 pieces of plastic, one painted, the other clearplastic. Now I understand whatBCGlide was refering to. Over time and if your not careful, the paint 'will' come off with frequent removals. [sm=smiley20.gif]

He's messing with you. Just start at the bottom incase you slip or something. Also pick up a service manual. Lots of good info that's not in the owners manual.
I believe the speakers are of marine catagory. They can get wet. Just like the deck. I wouldn't force it, but a little water won't kill it.
Hey Glide riders,
In the April issue of "American Bagger" there's a Road Glide featured called "Copper Chollo". It has a headlight cover that looks like some sort of wire mesh material (black). It really looks badass. The bike was built by Trask Performance. I e-mailed them & they responded saying the grill will soon be a production item but not as of yet. I don't know how practical it would be, but it sure looks good.
