Ok so there have been a lot of threads stating how dangerous the TBW is for '08 owners.
Personally I have not had even one issue with my '08 that was not caused by something done by me.....e.g. My brake lights were stuck on and no cruise control due to the misalignment of the switch in the bars. In fact I have changed my handlebars and still have had no issues with about 700 miles on them.
Seems to me there is a lot of folks playing Chicken Little and yelling the sky is falling that don't have an '08, have "heard" something unsubstantiated on the internet, or are interpeting other issues as TBW issues.
So many reasons a bike might be havng issues that does not translate to an epidemic. One would be that there was a foo bar when they assembled the bike and ran through the setup at the dealer when it was recieved. I have heard of loose wires...it happens...I was looking at a brand new '06 that the dealer said came form the factory with an electrical issue.
So I was wondering how may are really having issues?
EDIT: Just to be clear the Advancing TBW issue means that the throttle is advancingon it's own while riding. Not thesame as theidle issue and not related to cruise control.
I have an 08 Ultra w/1600 miles and it has been in the shop 7 times.
This is the biggest POS motorcycle I have ever owned. And I have been through about 25 of them.
Got a 08 and it's running great. Beats the hell out of my 07. I would have to say this is one of the best running Harley'sI have owned.I have a 08 Ultra and will add some pics in the near future.

Bought a brand-new 08 Ultra last week. Have a bit over 500 miles on it.
Had a problem with the idle increasing, but thanks to the forum was able to get it back down to about 1,000 rpm. Was using the killswitch to shut it off. Discovered that's a no-no.
Works just fine now, and runs like a charm.
Hope this helps.
No problems at 5000 miles. I use the kill switch often but take my hand of the throttle.
7 trips to the same dealer for the same issue? I'd be finding a new dealer.
want to test yours? Have it in neutral, raise the rpm's to 2000 and hit the kill switch. Turn ignition off, back on, press kill to run position and restart.
The kill switch is a no-no? Why? I've always done that on every bike and never had a problem. Hmmm.
The only problem I had was a leaky rear shock, which they fixed. Otherwise I love it. Hopefully everything will stay working because I have many plans for cruising this year.
