Rode almost 200 miles today with my lady. Left my house in central Florida and rode to the Anna Maria Island/Bradenton area for lunch. Got to Anna Maria, g/f soaked up the sun I read a book. Weather was mid 80's sky was crystal clear, perfect weather. My 08 EGC ran perfect. The more I ride this bike the more I am impressed, she is smooooottthhhh and powerful. Nary a problem what so ever. The TBW works well for me, the rear brake squeals a little, but not enough to bother me. Anyway, the ride was great..some benefit to living in Florida.
Sounds like a great day. I got to ride a little the last few days on HD demo days bikes. Love to ride for free, not paying for gas priceless. Gota love the 08 bikes everyone I've road is pretty dang nice.
Anna Maria Island is my favorite place on earth, Harington house is down on Holmes Beach If you ever want to spend a Romantic night with your woman that is the place, very exspensive and you have to make reservations but, it is well worth it! Ever go to Ft Desoto? Not bad for a day trip.
Rick, it was great. I am a native Floridian and have, over the years, seen the population explode with the accompanying crime rate and traffic congestion. I have to say, I have thought about moving somewhere else in a few years but I have to admit days like yesterday really make me appreciate Florida. It's gotten where you have to be REAL careful in traffic, alot of retirees down here that just do not pay attention but Florida has beaches on both coasts and, if you want some scenic roads central Fla around Ocala has plenty of that. Coupled with the sunshine and generally good weather it is a great place to ride. (although the mountains of Tn, NC do attract me too)
Congrats. It keeps getting better as the mileage adds up. Getting ready to click over 17K on my '07 Ultra, put on 188 today in North Miss. and in Tenn. Beautiful day, 7 Harleys, 6 couples, a good lunch, and 188 miles of God's beauty.
A buddy and I road up to Anna Maria Island in Dec 06. The beach at the northern tip is very nice. The Rod & Reel Pier is cool place to eat and drink.
Glad to hear the bike ran well. The weather has been unusually pleasant here for the end of April. Did about 150 miles on Friday and 100 today.
