ElectraGlide Slip on pipes or not? Do most use them?
Well, I've now owned my ElectraGlide Classic for three weeks and LOVE the bike. I should have bought one of these years ago! Anyway, this bike I own is a 2007 and it is all stock for now. I really don't think as far as engine mods I will do any. Chrome and other goodies, Hell yea! So the question I have is do most of you have slip on pipes or exhaust of some sort on these? Mine is stock and sounds a little on the quiet side. A couple of years back I had a Sportster 1200 Custom and had SEII pipes on it and I LOVED the sound but I'm not sure if I want to make this "tour" bike louder? I have heard plenty of baggers with REALLY loud pipes and I know that's not for me. I'm thinking if I could get a little more rumble I might be happy though? From what is sounds like on this bike all I would need to to is just put sleep on pipes and I wouldn't need to make any other FI adjustments or anything like that.
Do most of you leave yours stock exhaust on or do you through the sleep on and roll with that? If so what do you guys use? I know the SE seem to be no more?.
RE: ElectraGlide Slip on pipes or not? Do most use them?
I have a set of SE Mufflers from someone here who decided to have true duals put on before delivery. I like them very much, a deeper rumble or throatynessbut only a slight increase in how loud they are.

I'm running, SE slash down, slip- on mufflers on my 07 Ultra. They have a nice rumble and get a little louder the longer you run'em.

I have the SE mufflers...before I took delivery on my EGC I took the sales guy out in the parking lot, listened to someone fire up their bike, and told the sales guy "Put in the Stage 1 kit and the mufflers that will make it sound like that." Nice rumble, not too loud. I too decided to go easy on the performance mods and buy chrome instead...in my case, flames. Here's a pic if yer interested...

I have a set of '06 SE slip-ons on my '07 Ultra and have been very pleased with them. I also got them from a friend who had to have Rinehardt True Duals on his '06 Ultra. He may feel better about them, but I don't think they sound better than the SE's.
