I see many peopleuse the hand-held microphone set-up on their CB system. Whatexperience do the people in the forum have with the hand-held microphoneset-up? Pros/cons, advantages/disadvantages over the helmet headset.
Thanks,
Bob
I like the advantage of being able to use the CB without having my helemt on.
I don't always wear a helmet. I don't have electronics in all my helemts.
For example: Two years ago enroute to Stugis: started out just above 50 degrees and was wearing a full face helmet. As is warmed up, switched to a half helmet, and as the temp rose over a hundred, wore no helmet at all.
The mic allowed me to use the CB with the half helmet and with no helmet.
Sometimes things happen, an' ya need ta git shut of that mic in a hurry. Wrap some velcro around it, an' put some on yer jacket, pants, or even on the gas tank. Then you kin git shut of it in a hurry without it bouncin' on the road.....
<don't ask, okay? Ah'm too tired ta come up with a good story fer the ones ah've busted droppin' 'em....>
Two of my riding buddies used them last year on our cross country trip and they loved 'em. One tip they figured out was to not yell into the mic. They said once they just started speaking normally into the mic, they understood each other pretty well.
And they just left the micattached to the handle bar and leaned it to click it and talk briefly.
