Default Seat Strap....

I am just wondering if there is any downside to removing the seat strap?

I have a backrest so if the seat screw came off the back rest would hold it in place.

I've been without my strap for several thousand miles now. It was too long when I got the sundowner and have just not got it shortened (pick it up this weekend). I haven't had a problem without it.

The only downside in CA is it's one of those things a chickensh*t cop will ticket you for when he's got an attitude.

It's there for your passenger ot have somehting to hang on to. It'srequired byDOT to be on there. That's whyall bikes have one.

Having said that..chunk it! It's a pain inthe behindif you ever need to take the seat off.

I took mine off a long time ago and put on the passenger grab rail. That being said I never liked the way the big gap in the seat looked when I had my backrest off. I had another strap from my Dyna which was shorter so I just wrapped it around the seat and fastened it to the bottom. Now it somewhat covers the gap and I can just pull my seat right off without screwing with the strap and I can just push it back a bit to get my backrest on.

First the heel shifter, second the seat strap, and third the warning labels.

[sm=exactly.gif]I took the heel shifter off for me and the seat strap off to keep the wife from complaining. (Didn't work. She just fixated on something else).

It would make stealing the seat easier. I am still going to remove mine though. If you have different seats you can switch them out easier.
