I live in northern Indiana and don't do much night riding because of deer being so thick here but I'm taking a trip Southwest this summer Do any of you guys ride at night or not?
I try to avoid it whenever possible. The deer factor is much higher, and visibility is not very good for any other things that might happen to be in the road.
Yes, you are correct...lot of critters come out after dark. But I've had far more close calls with four-wheelers in the daylight then animals at night.
when your time comes it comes. day, nite, rain, shine. my feelings on it. i ride day and nite 24/7/365. some conditions make me nervous but you adjust for them.
After barely missing a deer at night, I don't "like" to ride at night unless it is a necessity or a relatively short trip. When doing a trip, I try to call it a day by 5 or 6 so I can relax, have dinner and a couple of beverages. Get after it again the next morning.
I ride at night almost weekly and actually feel a little safer. The cagers are more likely to see me at night than in the day. Of course deer are always a factor here in FL so I am just a little more observant for them.
